Myndos Gate
← Back to list

Believed to have been constructed around 360 BC, the Myndos Gate is located on the western edge of Halicarnassus. Serving as one of the city’s entrances, it was built as a defensive structure atop the city walls. The gate complex features two monumental gates, an inner courtyard, and two large towers. Restoration of the towers began in 1999. With vaulted tombs dating back to the Hellenistic and Roman periods, Myndos Gate attracts history enthusiasts with its remarkable ancient remains.
