Xanthos is an ancient city located on a hill overlooking the Esen River, where Lycian and Roman acropolises come together. The first settlement of the city is estimated to date back to around 1200 BCE.

Built on a natural slope with a stunning view, the Xanthos Theater can accommodate approximately 8,000 to 10,000 spectators, making it one of the largest and most significant ancient theaters in the Lycian region.
