← Back to list
Are you ready to take a journey through history? Known as Karmylassos or Levissi in ancient times, Kayaköy Archaeological Site dates back to around 3000 BCE. Traces of the Ottoman Empire can also be seen here, alongside the stone houses built by Greek Orthodox residents. Kayaköy contains approximately 350–400 houses, scattered chapels, two large churches, a school, and a customs building, all open for visitors to explore.
Located just 8 kilometers south of Fethiye, Kayaköy stands out as a site of historical and cultural significance and has been recognized by UNESCO as a “World Friendship and Peace Village.”
