Yıldız Park and Palace
← Back to list

Also known as Yıldız Grove, Yıldız Park is one of Istanbul’s must-visit spots, offering a perfect blend of greenery and historic buildings. While strolling through the park, you might spot squirrels playing among the trees. The area was purchased by Sultan Murad IV and gifted to his daughter, Kaya Sultan.

The park houses important structures such as the Malta Pavilion, Çadır Pavilion, and Şale Pavilion. The Malta Pavilion, built during the reign of Sultan Abdülaziz using stones brought from Malta, impresses visitors with its ornate ceilings, marble fish motifs, and gilded mirrors. The Çadır Pavilion now operates as a café and restaurant under the management of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

Recently, the restoration of Yıldız Palace, built by Sultan Selim III for his mother Mihrişah Sultan, has been completed, and the palace is now open to visitors.
